This is my 15th year teaching in Lawrence. I've taught Title Reading and 5th grade at Kennedy Elementary before moving to New York Elementary to teach Title Reading and 4th grade. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from the University of Kansas.
I love to travel, but my roots are here in Kansas. I live in Leawood and only a few blocks from where I grew up. I've been all over the United States and my goal is to visit all historic landmarks before I retire (if that ever happens). I have one son, Dalton, who is my greatest joy in life. It is very rewarding being a mother and I cherish every minute of it. We enjoy playing outside, watching movies, and drawing/writing.
I have always been an avid reader and my favorite authors are Meg Cabot, Sophia Kinsella, Gordon Korman, Jerry Spinelli, and J.K.Rowling. I am currently working on a children's novel and dream to someday be a published author. I love reading and writing and hope to express my love for them on the kids I teach.
